November 28, (THEWILL) – The Social Democratic Party candidate for Ijebu Central Federal Constituency, Adeola Azeez, has empowered artisans and craftsmen with loans to boost their business operations.
Azeez, who stated that she partnered with a credit facility company, Sycamore, to give the traders monetary loans, said that such gesture would alleviate poverty and create wealth among her constituents.
She disclosed this at her campaign office in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, while fielding questions from journalists on her plan to empower over 90 artisans and craftsmen in her constituency.
The ex-banker said that about 30 people would be picked from the three local government areas comprising her constituency including, Ijebu-Ode, Odogbolu and Ijebu North East, to further benefit from the loan scheme.
She urged the beneficiaries not to fail in meeting the requirements of the firm and refund the money after using it to scale up their businesses so that others can also benefit.
She said “We are empowering them with money or we give them equipment because most of them need money to scale up their businesses. So I told them that I have partnered with Sycamore, who will take up their requests as they will meet certain requirements to make sure that the loan given will be refunded as agreed by both parties.
“The loan will reduce poverty and move them to better housing and can also provide them many things. It will also reduce the hardship and pain of our people. More.”
Speaking for Sycamore Company, Mr Charles Peter, said that his firm partnered with Adeola Azeez Foundation to empower artisans and craftsmen in her constituency in order to boost their business operations.
“All businesses thrive when there is fund and we partnered her to make sure that artisans and craftsmen have access to the loan” he added.
One of the beneficiaries, Mr. Nurudeen Odeji, appreciates Azeez for making the loan a reality, promising to make good use of it to boost his business.
