Scores Abducted As Bandits Attack Jos Communities, Set Houses On Fire

April 10, (THEWILL) – Scores of villagers have been reportedly abducted after bandits on Sunday attacked villages in Kanam Local Government Area of Plateau State, setting houses on fire.

Confirming the incident on Sunday, a resident of Kukawa village, Adam Musalawa, listed the attacked communities as Kukawa, Gyanbahu, Dungur and Keram villages.

He said many people were injured in the attack, adding that several properties were also burnt.

The source, who disclosed that several residents have fled their homes, said security operatives were unavailable during the attack, thereby giving the bandits free time to operate.

The State Police Command has not issued any statement on the incident. Spokesperson of the Command, ASP Ubah Gabriel, did not respond to calls and text messages sent to his phone as at time of report.
