BEVERLY HILLS, September 29, (THEWILL) – President Muhammadu Buhari, was on Friday joined by former vice president, Namadi Sambo, in observing Special Juma’at Prayers in commemoration of the 57th Independence Celebration of Nigeria at the State House mosque.
Also in the Presidential Villa for the Jumaat service was the Senate President, Abubakar Saraki, who told State House correspondents that Nigeria had achieved a lot in the 57 years of its independence.
“A lot of people would say what are we congratulating ourselves about, we have achieved a lot. We have been able to maintain our peace despite our diversity,” he said, urging Nigerians to continue to pray for the country.
The prayers was also attended by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai; Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Abubakar Sadique; Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris; and Comptroller-General of Customs, Hameed Ali.
Aside the Bauchi governor, others in attendance were the Minister of the Interior, Abdurahman Danbazzau; Minister of Water Resources, Suleiman Adamu; Minister of Communications, Adebayo Shittu and some other senior presidency officials.
