BEVERLY HILLS, March 08, (THEWILL) – The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, says members of the UK royal family were “worried”about how dark her son’s skin might be before he was born.
She disclosed this in a recent interview with Oprah Winfrey, saying that the royal family “fretted” over the colour of her son, Archie.
Markle, whose mother is African American and her father, white, stated that her husband, Prince Harry told her about the discussion the royal family had with him over not naming their first child, Archie, a prince and not providing their son with the security he should get because of his skin.

She said: “In those months when I was pregnant… we have in tandem the conversation of ‘he won’t be given security, he’s not going to be given a title’ and also concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he’s born.
“That was relayed to me from Harry, those were conversations the family had with him.”
The duo, however, did not disclose who raised the issue of the child’s skin colour.
Markle also disclosed that she thought of suicide amid the challenges she faced when she joined the royal family.
