BEVERLY HILLS, April 22, (THEWILL) – Popular Nollywood actress, Rita Edochie, has reacted amid backlashes in some quarters concerning the demise of Ada Jesus, the young comedienne.

THEWILL had earlier reported that Ada Jesus, whose real name is Mmesoma Mercy Obi, died on Wednesday after a protracted battle with kidney disease.

However, the spotlight continues to beam on Edochie because of an earlier face-off between them.

Ada Jesus had last year accused the actress of conniving with popular Anambra-based Prophet Odumeje to stage fake miracles.

She had taken ill after the incident and amid the drama, Rita had initially cursed her for attempting to bring her reputation to disrepute.

“If I have ever asked Ada to bring someone for Odumeje for fake miracles, may I never get anything I want on this earth. But if I did not, Ada will never get up from this sickness,” she had said.

However, the actress later stated that she had decided to forgive Ada Jesus after several pleas from friends and fans.

Also Odumeje revealed that he had forgiven her too.

Following her death, some Nigerians took to the micro-blogging platform to call out the actress, citing her earlier remarks.

“If there is one thing Odumeje and Rita would be regretting now is them finding it difficult to forgive Ada Jesus when she came pleading. Rita Edochie will have to live with the regret of the statement she made, saying Ada will never come out from that problem. Now she is dead,” a user wrote.

“If it’s true that Ada Jesus is dead then Rita Edochie has some questions to answer,” another wrote.

However, in an Instagram post on Thursday, the actress stated that she was not disturbed by the accusations.

“Lord Almighty made me a strong woman and that I will remain. The seed cannot be killed,” she wrote.
