September 27, (THEWILL) – Dupe Olusola has enjoyed a consistent rise in her career as a woman in Nigeria’s corporate world. The ebony-skinned business executive worked with Bloomberg and Northern Trust in the United Kingdom before relocating to Nigeria. Her career journey in Nigeria started with Sectrust, now Afrinvest, before she moved to African Capital Alliance. In 2008, she joined the United Bank for Africa (UBA). She started in the investment relations department, and later seconded to Transcorp Hotel as a director of resources. Thereafter, she was appointed to lead the now-defunct agribusiness arm of Transcorp, Tetago Commodities, as the chief executive officer and managing director. Her unprecedented success as the CEO saw the company striking a deal with Coca-Cola to produce Five Alive Pulpy Orange juice, making Tetago the sole local material source for the juice.
She again returned to United Bank of Africa as its group head, Embassies, Multilaterals and Development Organisation (EMDOs) and Global Investors Services (GIS), before being appointed as group marketing head of the bank. In 2020, she was made the chief executive officer of Transcorp Hotel. Dupe is a combination of beauty and brains. She was listed as one of the 100 most inspiring women in Nigeria by YNaija a few years ago. In 2015, she was named in Ventures Africa’s 10 most influential Nigerian CEOs. In addition, she was recently listed as one of the 30 finalists in the strategic women in leadership award (SAWIL).
