BEVERLY HILLS, July 09, (THEWILL) – The House of Representatives is considering a motion seeking to take over the functions of the Edo House of Assembly in line with the constitution.
This according to the sponsors of the motion is a matter of urgent public importance and in view of the crisis rocking the legislative house.
The motion was brought during plenary on Tuesday by Julius Ihonvbere, Peters Akpatason, and Johnson Oghuma and it is to enable the proper inauguration of Edo State Assembly.
THEWILL recalls that there has been chaos in the Edo State House of Assembly as only a few members have been inaugurated while there is disagreement over its leadership.
During the deliberations at the lower chamber, some lawmakers asked for investigation before the House takes the final decision.
The House thereafter resolved to set up a committee to investigate the ongoing situation.
