BEVERLY HILLS, November 08, (THEWILL) – The police in Nigeria will probe Kannywood actress, Rahama Sadau, over her now-viral photos where she wore a backless dress that exposed that part of her body.
The photos received backlash from the Arewa Community, a Muslim group, which said the pictures were indecent, provocative, and against Islam. She has however since apologized and asked for forgiveness.
However, it appears the controversy over the matter is yet to rest following a petition written to the police Inspector-General, Mohammed Adamu. The IGP has directed the Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, Umar Muri, to investigate the matter to ensure that it does not lead to a breakdown of law and order.
“I am to convey the directive of the Inspector General of Police that you treat proactively with a view to ensuring that the development does not result in any act that could threaten public peace and security. The Inspector-General of Police further directs that you furnish him with updates accordingly,” part of the IGP’s letter read.
THEWILL reports that the actress has been suspended by the northern movie industry.
