SAN FRANCISCO, February 12, (THEWILL) – One of the two officers the Benue state police command declared missing has been found dead.
In a statement on Monday by Moses Yamu, Spokesman of the command, one of the remaining police officers have been found “brutally slaughtered” adding that said some of the officer’s sense organs, including his eyes and nose were removed.
THEWILL recalls that four officers of the Benue state police command went missing after suspected herdsmen, said to be fully armed, opened fire on the police team while they were returning from an assignment in some villages in Logo local government area of the state on Saturday.
Two of the four later returned to the state command on Sunday and were said to be in a sound state.
However, in a statement on Monday, Yamu announced the discovery of the corpse of one of the missing officers.
“The command regret to announce the death of one of its NCO, who was one of the two (2) remaining missing policemen in the attack of 9/2/2018.
“He was found brutally slaughtered, with both eyes and ears as well as nose removed. We pray that God Almighty grants him eternal rest.”
