September 26, (THEWILL) – The Bayelsa State Police Command has said it paraded the leader of a notorious gang of kidnappers, Emmanuel Charles Angase, and other suspected dangerous criminals in Yenagoa, the state capital, as part of its effort to showcase its modest achievements in fighting crime in the state.

The Commissioner of Police, Ben Nebolisa Okolo, stated this on Monday at the Police Officers Mess in Yenagoa.

According to him, in recent times the Command has been confronted with reported cases of kidnapping, armed robbery, and cultism and it reviewed the security strategy with a special focus on tackling kidnapping and armed robbery. The strategy paid off with the recent arrest of the gang of kidnappers by operatives of Operation Restore Peace.

Okolo disclosed that the gang has been responsible for over 10 high-profile kidnap cases in the state over a period of seven years.
