December 07, (THEWILL) – Three of the five students who allegedly assaulted late Dowen College Student, Sylvester Oromoni have been arrested.
Lagos state commissioner of police, Hakeem Odumosu, confirmed the arrest on Tuesday.
However, Odumosu did not give the identities of those arrested.
The police boss explained that the Command is set to go for the post mortem of the body in Delta state to ascertain the cause of death.
He said police authorities in both Lagos and Delta States are keenly interested in the outcome of the investigation to unravel the cause of Sylvester’s death..
THEWILL recalls that Sylvester died from internal injuries days before his birthday after being allegedly assaulted by fellow students in Dowen College.
Before his death, Sylvester had allegedly named five students who he claimed attacked him in his dormitory, inflicting on him multiple internal injuries.
The late student’s father earlier said that his child was beaten and fed a liquid chemical which led to his death.
But the school dismissed the claim, alleging that he sustained injuries while playing football with his colleagues.
The Lagos State government has since shut down the school, while the police continue investigation into the matter.
Odomosu said the students in custody are assisting the police in their investigation.
