August 29, (THEWILL) – Lawyers for Paul Pogba have revealed that an organised gang attempted to extort the Juventus midfielder.
Pogba’s brother, Mathias, who was involved, promised to publish “great revelations” concerning the France international, his agent, and Paris Saint-Germain star, Kylian Mbappe, by posting videos in his possession online.
After Mathias insisted that “the whole world, as well as my brother’s fans, and even more so the French team and Juventus, deserve to know certain things,” Pogba’s representatives released a statement on Sunday, that read: “The recent declarations of Mathias Pogba on social media are unfortunately not a surprise.
“They are coming after threats and attempts of extortion by an organised gang against Paul Pogba. The competent bodies in Italy and France were informed a month ago and there will be no further comments in relation to the ongoing investigation.”
The threats that Pogba received are considered extremely serious, and French authorities are still looking into the situation. Mathias is currently a free agent after his contract with French fourth-tier club, Belfort, expired in April. Over the course of a long career, he has represented 13 different clubs.
