Pochettino Dreams Real Madrid Job, Removes Self From Man Utd Consideration

February 26, (THEWILL) – Mauricio Pochettino, the manager of Paris Saint-Germain, who has been heavily projected to return to the Premier League and take over at Manchester United when Ralf Rangnick’s interim position lapses appears to have his sights elsewhere.

There are indications that the former Tottenham Hotspur manager, who was connected with the manager’s job at Old Trafford since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was fired in November, has already declined the offer, preferring to wait for a better offer elsewhere.

Reports monitored by THEWILL have it that the Argentine turned down the opportunity to return to the EPL because he is hopeful that there is a possibility he will be offered the manager gig in La Liga to handle Real Madrid.

THEWILL recalls that after the termination of Solskjaer’s contract, German tactician Ralf Rangnick was named interim manager of the Red Devils, and it is said that Rangnick will have a say in who the next permanent manager of the club will be at the end of the season, when he switches to a consultancy role.

However, it appears that Pochettino has already ruled himself out of consideration since he believes he may have a chance at the Santiago Bernabeu with Real, where Carlo Ancelotti has done impressively this season.

Even though Los Blancos president Florentino Perez sees Pochettino as one of Madrid’s future coaches, there are no guarantees that the Spanish giants will decide to fire Carlo Ancelotti at the conclusion of the season.

And, in an occasion that it plays out accordingly and Ancelotti gets the boot, it will be a long shot for Pochettino, he is one of the front-runners to take Ancelotti’s position.
