February 05, (THEWILL) – Plateau state deputy governor, Professor Sonni Tyoden has officially declared his ambition to contest for the governorship position of the state in the 2023 general elections.
Tyoden, amidst thunderous cheers by party officials and stakeholders, at an event, held at the NUT hall, in Mangu, declared to contest the guber position under the platform of his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Doman Wetkum, the Chief Press Secretary to the deputy governor, in a statement, said “The APC ward chairman of Pushit, Benjamin Yakus officially presented the Deputy Governor to the Local Government Chairman of the Party, Abdullahi Ladan who In turn presented him to party faithful and stakeholders.”
APC chairman, Mangu Local Government, Abdullah Ladan noted that he is confident in the ability of Professor Tyoden and urged party faithful to support his aspiration.
Also, Chairman, Mangu Local Government Council, Minister Daput commended the Professor Tyoden for the declaration and assured him of the needed support.
He further prevailed on other aspirants to conduct themselves with decorum for a peaceful selection process.
Earlier, Professor Tyoden had presented himself before ward officials of the APC in Pushit.
Those who spoke at the events declared total support for the aspiration of Tyoden and wished him well as he aspires to be the governor of Plateau state.
