May 31, (THEWILL) – Sergio Perez has extended his contract with Red Bull Racing until 2024 after winning his first race of the season at the Monaco Grand Prix.
As THEWILL reported, Perez came off a strong performance in Sunday’s race, where he started third but quickly took the lead and held on for his third career victory.
Since 2011, the Mexican driver has competed in Formula One, signing with Red Bull for the 2021 season, after having previously driven for Sauber, McLaren, Force India, and Racing Point.
Perez reacted to the extension by tweeting: “Thank you for all the trust and for making me part of this family for two more years! Vamooos!”
Although Red Bull announced the extension on Tuesday, Perez had actually signed before the race in Monaco, where he claimed his fourth podium finish of the season.
