PDM Withdraws Petition Against Buhari’s Re-Election

SAN FRANCISCO, July 24, (THEWILL) – The Peoples Democratic Movement (PDM) has withdrawn its petition challenging the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari at the 2019 presidential election.

Counsel to the party Aliyu Lemu on Wednesday approached the Tribunal seeking to strike out the petition.

Chairman of the Tribunal, Justice Mohammed Garba after listening to all parties in the suit gave his ruling.

“We find it expedient to grant the application as prayed. It is granted and leave is given to the petitioners to withdraw the petition and as a consequence, the petition is dismissed.”

The tribunal, therefore, acceded to the request of the party and its presidential candidate Pastor Habu Aminchi and as a consequence struck out the application.
