Paul Defeat Silva By Unanimous Decision To Boos From Crowd

October 30, (THEWILL) – Jake Paul knocked Anderson Silva, down late in the hardest fight of his career and prevailed via a contentious unanimous decision, to maintain his perfect record of 6-0 in his celebrity boxing career.

The wide scorecards, not the decision itself, caused the 14,430 spectators at the Desert Diamond Arena, to boo their disagreement with the judges because they felt Silva had hit Paul frequently with the harder combinations while applying pressure, which left Paul in awkward situations.

Despite being 47 years old, Silva still had the showmanship, quick counterpunching and dexterity of the man who still holds the UFC record for the longest middleweight title reign in the division’s history to date.

However, Paul’s powerful right hand occasionally connected and cut Silva’s nose during the middle rounds, before he finally landed his deadly punch flush during a frenzied exchange that began the first few seconds of round eight. Silva got to his feet after being knocked to the canvas on his behind.

If Paul had not already gained his respect in the boxing world, the late knockdown made up for it. But, Silva resumed his search for a sucker delivery, while brushing up on Paul along the ropes. Unfortunately, the judges already had Paul up, sealing his loss. They scored the bout 77-74, 78-73, 78-73 in favour of Paul.
