Over 25 Nigerians Arrested In Kenya For Visa Breach

SAN FRANCISCO, October 21, (THEWILL) – The Kenyan Immigration office has disclosed that it has arrested over 25 Nigerians for staying in the country illegally after their visas expired.

The office, in a series of tweet to alert Kenyans on Nigerians flouting the immigration laws, called for its citizens to provide information of more Nigerians suspected of living in the East African country illegally.

It further declared that any foreigner seeking accommodation in the country must show valid documentations to the house owner before the rent is accepted.

“Over 25 Nigerians arrested today in Nairobi, Kasarani, Roysambu, Mirema area for being in the country illegally after their visa validity elapsed. Please give report if any around your area,” the office tweeted via its handle @ImmigrationDept.

“Most of them stay like 5 or so in one house. Before you rent any foreigner a house, kindly ask for their valid stay documents in Kenya.

“Please give detailed info like exact location if any, it will be of help. Please find out on their exact location, house number or name. That will be of help.”

THEWILL recalls that about 17 Nigerians, found with 48 laptops, were arrested in Mlolongo, Machakos County, in September, who were believed to be staying in groups of between three and four and said to be in the country illegally because their visas had expired.
