OPINION: NIGERIAN ARMY, WHY ARABIC ON YOUR EMBLEM?

Nigeria has English as formal language and as lingua franca. She has over 300 languages and three of them – Hausa, Ibo and Yoruba – are said to be ‘major’.

But most Nigerians have noticed that the emblem of the Nigerian Army carries an Arabic inscription as motto. We do not understand what this logo stands for and we need an explanation. The former inscription on that national emblem as well used to be PRIDE OF A NATION. Why was it removed and replaced with an Arabic inscription?
