Online Publishers Disowns Impersonating Group

BEVERLY HILLS, CA, October 31, (THEWILL) – The Online Publishers Association of Nigeria (OPAN), a group representing the highest standards in online publishing, Wednesday issued a vocal beat down to a group, which identifies itself as the Nigerian Online Publishers Association (NOPA); dissociating its members from the latter group that claims to represent Nigerian online publishers.

OPAN, in a statement through its attorney, C. K. James Esq, alleged that the rival group is out to create confusion; and cautioned against any attempt at impersonation and misrepresentation by NOPA will precipitate a legal process to resolve the unfortunate fracas created.

OPAN said though it recognizes the right of individuals and persons to form associations, it feels duty-bound to draw the public’s attention to the anomaly it wants addressed.

“We therefore advise that any person(s) using the name (OPAN) for whatever purpose without due consent and authorization by the duly accredited officers of Online Publishers Association of Nigeria (OPAN) may be doing so at own risk and OPAN retains its right with regards to legal options,” the statement warned.

OPAN’s Cease & Desist Notice/Disclaimer is attached below.
