One Dead, Six Unhurt In Ogun Auto Crash

December 14, (THEWILL) – A passenger has died in an auto crash that occurred on Tuesday opposite Specialist Hospital, Ota, along Idi-Iroko road in Ogun state.

The accident involved a white-coloured HOWO Sino truck with registration number T-4145LA, a brown-coloured NISSAN Maxima with registration number GGE632BU, and a HONDA motorcycle with registration number: DED004QZ.

Eyewitnesses said the crash was caused by dangerous driving on the part of the Nissan Maxima driver who failed to park off the road and opened the door while in motion, forcing the passenger of the motorcycle to an oncoming Coca-cola truck.

The spokesperson of the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed the incident to newsmen in Abeokuta on Tuesday.

Akinbiyi said the passenger on the motorcycle was crushed to death by the oncoming truck.

According to him, the driver of the Nissan vehicle drove recklessly and opened the door of his vehicle in motion, resulting to the death of the victim.

The TRACE PRO said that seven persons (five male and two female) were involved in the accident but six escaped unhurt.

He said the dead body has been deposited at Ifo General Hospital.
