Omo-Agege Defeats Ekweremadu For Deputy Senate President

BEVERLY HILLS, June 11, (THEWILL) –┬áSenator Ovie Omo-Agege has been elected Deputy Senate President of the 9th Senate.

The Delta Senator polled 68 votes to defeat Senator Ike Ekweremadu who polled 37 votes.

There are 107 Senators but Senator Ali Ndume failed to vote following his loss in the election of Senator Ahmed Lawan as Senate President while one vote was voided.

The results in the Senate is a victory for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and its National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole.
