BEVERLY HILLS, May 11, (THEWILL) – The Northern Youth for Democracy has expressed support for the removal of Hadiza Bala Usman as Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).
In a statement issued on Monday in Kano signed by Engineer Bello Muhammad Gambo, the Coordinator of the youth group, it stated that her removal was in line with the fight against corruption by the Federal Government.
It commended the Minister of Transportation, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi for his stand on the removal of embattled former Managing Director, Hadiza Usman.
The youth also urged President Muhammad to set up a panel of investigation to examine all allegations of her corrupt practices at the agency.
According to them, “We are saddened by the mismanagement and corrupt practices in the port authority and we believed the President Muhammad Buhari will not tolerates this. We are optimistic that she will face the law at the end of the panel of investigation outcome.
“We as northern youth condemned her actions in the port authority and we are solidly behind the Minister of tansportation. We want the agencies fighting corruption in the country to wade in and bring back the mismanagement done by Ms Hadiza to order.”
The youth also pledged to continue supporting the Federal Government’s actions against any corrupt person.
