BEVERLY HILLS, April 22, (THEWILL) – Police in Lagos have arrested popular Nollywood actor, Olarenwaju James, better known as Baba Ijesha, for defiling a minor.
The Lagos State police spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi, disclosed this on Thursday saying that the case of defilement was reported on 19th April, 2021 by one Princess Adekola Adekanya at Sabo Police Station.
According to Adejobi, the case has been transferred to the Gender Unit of the State CID, Panti, Yaba, Lagos for investigation.
Based on investigation, the 48-year-old suspect began sexually assaulting the victim, 14 years, since she was 7 years old.
Adejobi disclosed that the suspect confessed to the crime and was also captured by a CCTV camera in the house of the complainant.
The Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has assured that justice will prevail in the matter.
