August 23, (THEWILL) – Veteran Nollywood thespians, Jide Kosoko and Joke Silva, are among the speakers at the memorial symposium held in honour of late veteran actress, Rachel Oniga.
This was revealed through the symposium poster shared by Oniga’s family on the late Nollywood star’s Instagram page on Monday.
It could be recalled that Oniga died of heart-related disease, on Saturday, July 31, and her family had stated that she battled with the ailment “for a short period before her demise”.
THEWILL writes that in memory of the actress, a coalition of Non-governmental organizations, Nollywood stakeholders, and friends has organised a one-day symposium in her honour.
The symposium is scheduled to be held today at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry at Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.
The theme for the event is ‘Living a Good Life (The Legacy of an Icon)’ and the keynote speaker is Dr Benson Uwheru, who is a partner at Ernst &Young, a Banking & Capital Markets Leader in West Africa.
Speakers at the event include Veteran actor and Chairman, Board of Fellow and Trustee, Theatre Arts and Motion Picture Practitioners Association, Jide Kosoko and film producer, Joke Silva.
Other speakers are National President Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas; Veteran Movie Actor/Film Producer, Kate Henshaw; and Veteran Movie Actor, Charles Inojie.
