March 14, (THEWILL) – Honourable Nnenna Ukeje-Elendu, a former member of the House of Representative representing Bende Federal Constituency of Abia State, has lost valuables worth millions of naira to inferno. The lawmaker lost her cars and other valuables in a residential building housing her properties after hoodlums invaded the compound and set it ablaze. Many have labelled the attack as the work of her political detractors who are eager to tarnish her reputation.

This conclusion came after a certain Frank Ejike, who is an aide to Honourable Benjamin Kalu, a member of the National Assembly currently representing the same constituency, had issued a threat to the former lawmaker before the ugly incident took place. Ejike accused Ukeje-Elendu of attacking Kalu, her successor. He alleged that the former lawmaker caged the destiny of Bende for the 12 years she spent in office. He promised to go after the former lawmaker with full force and strike her without blinking. Although they belong to the same party, Ejike claimed that he did not benefit from Ukeje-Elendu’s 12-year tenure in the lower chamber. He ensured his boss, Kalu, got the support of party members who voted him for the PDP primary election that led to his eventual victory at the general poll in 2019. After the dare-devils invaded her premises, accusing fingers were pointed at Frank Ejike because of the threat he made on the former lawmaker.
