Nigeria’s Victor Moses Named Goal Africa Player Of The Year 2017

SAN FRANCISCO, December 29, (THEWILL) – Nigeria’s Victor Moses has been named Goal Africa Player of the Year for 2017, a reward for his exploits for club and country this year.

The 26-year-old won the award ahead of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Gabon and Borussia Dortmund), Naby Keita(Guinea and RB Leipzig), Sadio Mane (Senegal and Liverpool), and Mohamed Salah (Egypt and Liverpool).

After years of loan moves, Moses wwas an integral member of Chelsea’s 2016-2017 Premier League-winning team under coach, Antonio Conte.

He has also cemented his role at Stamford Bridge under Antonio Conte, making his first league start for the Blues in over three years October 1, 2016, against Hull City in a 3-4-3 system, which he played an unfamiliar right wing-back role and had 22 consecutive league starts for Chelsea.

Moses, made the five-man shortlist for BBC African Footballer of the Year 2017 which was won by Mohamed Salah and also made the 11-man shortlist for CAF’s African Footballer of the Year award but didn’t make the final shortlist.
