October 18, (THEWILL) – Neymar will miss Paris Saint-Germain’s UEFA Champions League match against RB Leipzig scheduled for 8pm on Tuesday..
The 29-year-old is still recovering from an adductor injury he sustained on international duty. He also missed PSG’s 2-1 win over Angers in Ligue 1 on Friday due to the problem.
Team manager Mauricio Pochettino commented on the injury, saying “The priority is the player’s health. He has a little problem which we hope he will have recovered from in a few days.”
An official statement from the club read, in part: “Neymar Jr has suffered from adductor pain since his return from the national team and will have to extend a period of care for a few days before a normal return to the group.”
Also missing due to injury are Leandro Paredes and Sergio Ramos..
Due to their involvement in CONMEBOL World Cup qualifiers in the early hours of the Friday morning, PSG were without a number of players for their match on Friday evening.
In Brazil’s 4-1 win over Uruguay, Neymar scored a goal, while Marquinhos was an unused substitute.
On the same night, Lionel Messi, Angel Di Maria, and Leandro Paredes all started Argentina’s 1-0 victory over Peru.
PSG currently leads Group A of the Champions League after drawing with Club Bruges and defeating last season’s finalists Manchester City.
Leipzig, on the other hand, is at the bottom of the group.
