October 17, (THEWILL) – A medical emergency in the stands forced the Premier League match between Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur to be suspended.
After an emergency was flagged in the crowd, the first half was brought to a halt just before the scheduled seven minutes of stoppage time. The players would return to finish the half, according to the stadium announcer.
As the players were being led off the field and into the locker rooms, paramedics from both sides rushed to help someone in the crowd.
Sergio Reguilon reported the incident to the referee on the pitch of play.
