BEVERLY HILLS, October 30, (THEWILL) – Sebastian Osigwe, the new Super Eagles invitee goalkeeper, has tested positive for the dreaded coronavirus.
His club, FC Lugano confirmed the development in a statement on its website Thursday.
According to the Swiss club, seven other Lugano players also tested positive for virus.
“The management of FC Lugano announces that the tests carried out following the positivity of Mattia Bottani also highlighted the positivity of the goalkeeper Sebastian Osigwe,” the statement partly read.
The goalkeeper will now observe the mandatory self-isolation for ten days before he is eligible for another test.
Osigwe was on Thursday selected by team coach Rohr for the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying double-header against the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone.
The goalkeeper has made four league appearances for Lugano this season.
