BEVERLY HILLS, January 31, (THEWILL) – The Chief of Defence Staff, Major General Lucky Irabor has led other Services Chiefs to Maiduguri, Borno State which is the theatre of war for the fight against Boko Haram
The newly appointed service Chiefs arrived at Air Task Force Operation Lafiya Dole in Maiduguri, the Borno State Capital on Sunday.
They were received Maj.-Gen. Farouq Yahaya, Theatre Commander, Operation Lafiya Dole, Maj.-Gen. Abdul Khalifa, the General Officer Commanding, 7 Division of the Nigerian Army and other principal staff officers of the Military Command and Control Centre at the Headquarters of the Air Task Force
They also met with Borno Gov Babagana Zulum.
This is the first time the new Service Chiefs are visiting Maiduguri since their appointment by President Mohammadu Buhari on Thursday.
It is also the first operational visit and is believed will redefine the fight against the insurgents.
Gen. Irabor and Major General Ibrahim Attahiru were Theatre Commanders of Operation Lafiya Dole in Maiduguri.
