Negotiations For Wan-Bissaka’s Return To Palace From Man Utd Ongoing

August 19, (THEWILL) – Three years after departing Selhurst Park for Old Trafford, Aaron Wan-Bissaka is in negotiations with Crystal Palace about a prospective move that might bring him back to south London.

In his first two seasons with the Red Devils’ team, Wan-Bissaka was almost always in the starting lineup, making 100 games in all competitions. The Croydon-born defender, however, lost his form in the first half of the 2021/2022, and was subsequently replaced by Diogo Dalot, whose United career was revived with that switch.

It is a beneficial move for the defender as United are already looking for a new right-back since Wan-Bissaka has remained on the bench under new manager, Erik ten Hag and Dalot is already ahead of him in the pecking order. So far, the biggest targets have been Josip Juranovic of Celtic and Sergino Dest of Barcelona, however, Thomas Meunier of Borussia Dortmund has also been mentioned.

A permanent Wan-Bissaka’s transfer to Palace is what United would love to arrange, and in order to do so, United may be willing to accept as low as £10 million or £15 million from Palace, which would represent a significant loss compared to the initial £45 million spent on bringing him in 2019. Palace is open to the idea of a loan as well.

For the chance to play first-team football, Wan-Bissaka himself would like to return to his old squad. Joel Ward was used as an additional center-back against Liverpool the last time out, with Nathaniel Clyne starting both of Palace’s Premier League games thus far this season.
