BEVERLY HILLS, July 29, (THEWILL) – Nigeria and Leicester City midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, says the Foxes had a great reason irrespective of not getting a Champions League spot.
Leicester City lost to the Red Devils on the last day of the Premier League campaign and saw them drop to 5th position, ending their hope of playing in the Champions League.
The Foxes were favourites to end the season in the top four position after they went unbeaten in their last 13 Premier League games before the Covid-19 break, but just two wins from their eight games after the restart of the league saw them slip behind Manchester United and Chelsea in the race for the Champions League.
“We are a bit disappointed to finish 5th. But overall. It was a great season!!, I want to first of all thank our fans for being with us even when the stadiums were empty due to the pandemic, it was indeed a season to learn from and grow into next season thanks for support,” Ndidi said.
