October 11, (THEWILL) – The Cross River State Chapter of the National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) have called for an end to all forms of injustices against the girl child.
Umo Basi-Edet, the chairperson of the state chapter made the call in Calabar in an address to mark this year’s day which was themed “Digital Generation, our Generation”.
Basi-Edet emphasised the need for everyone involved to raise their voices for the girl child and to stand up and support their right when necessary.
She equally tasked leaders at all levels and governments to improve on gender equality policies to serve as a stepping stone for the girl child to attain any height in the society.
