BEVERLY HILLS, June 11, (THEWILL) – Senator-elect for Imo West district, Rochas Okorocha was on Tuesday morning seen at the premises of the National Assembly at about 7:45am.
It was not clear yet whether he was on invitation or whether he had been cleared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to take part in the inauguration.
The former Imo state Governor was declared winner of the Imo West senatorial district but was not issued a certificate of return by INEC.
THEWILL recalls that a Federal High Court in Abuja had ordered that Okorocha be given his return certificate.
However, INEC is yet to comply with the ruling and scheduled a meeting to discuss the matter, amongst other issues, on Tuesday.
THEWILL gathered that Okorocha was thus denied accreditation by the Clerk of the National Assembly and his name wasn’t called during the roll call.
