November 29, (THEWILL) – With a 4-0 victory over Lazio at the stadium that now bears Diego Maradona’s name, Napoli put on a show fit for the anniversary of his passing.
Before the game, a statue in honour of the late Argentine and Napoli legend was unveiled, and the players wore shirts with his face on them. On a night when they sent out a message and climbed three points clear at the Serie A summit, Napoli went on to score three goals in the first half and added a fourth goal late in the game.
The game was open from the start, and I Partenopei gained the lead through Piotr Zielinski, who scored from a distance of the area after a superb pass. In the seventh minute It was two in less than three minutes.

Napoli were outstanding from start to finish, providing the perfect tribute to Maradona, with the Osimhen team playing the type of game they played under Maurizio Sarri, who happened to be in the opposite dugout.
It was evident that they were inspired by the Maradona tributes, and both Insigne and Lozano were able to play freely. After a loss to Inter last week, which was followed by another in the Europa League, the timing could not have been better. It could be Napoli’s year be to finally win the Scudetto after a 32-year wait, and they look hungry for it.
