BEVERLY HILLS, January 14, (THEWILL) – Adamu Muhammed, an Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG, will take over from Ibrahim Idris as Inspector General of the force.
Mr. Mohammed, who hails from Nasarawa State, was serving at the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) before his new appointment. He had previously served at the United Nations (UN) and the International Police (INTERPOL).
Idris, who officially retires from the force on January 15, 2019, met privately with president Muhammad Buhari Monday. Details of their talk was not made public.
IGP Idris, who was appointed by Buhari on June 21, 2016, replaced Mr. Solomon Arase.
