BEVERLY HILLS, September 10, (THEWILL) – Tottenham boss, Jose Mourinho, says his club cannot sign Barcelona captain, Messi, because the Argentine star decided to finish his contract at Barcelona and that Tottenham respects the Financial Fair Play rule.
THEWILL recalls that Manchester City were considered favorites to sign Messi and they just avoided punishment for violating the Financial Fair Play rule after their two-year ban from the Champions League by UEFA was upturned by the court of arbitration.
“[Would I sign Messi] for my Top Eleven team? No, not for Tottenham. Just for Top Eleven,” Mourinho told Joe.co.uk in a promotional video for Top Eleven.
“We respect Financial Fair Play at Tottenham.
