July 06, (THEWILL) – Victor Moses, the former Chelsea player, has reported for preseason training at Spartak Moscow, the Russian Premier League team, after going absent without leave during the first week.
The former Super Eagles’ wingback failed to show up to the team’s training camp at the scheduled time, the Red and Whites formally announced almost two weeks ago, noting that his contract has not been suspended.
Moses reportedly skipped the training camp in Tarasovka for personal reasons, Spartak Moscow stated in a press release yesterday, which was posted on the club’s official website.
The statement on the matter read, in part: “Victor Moses and Shamar Nicholson have joined the team. The Nigerian missed the training camp in Tarasovka for personal reasons, while the Jamaican was granted leave after playing for his national team.”
It was alleged that the player’s wife, Josephine, prevented him from going to Spartak Moscow’s training camp to meet up with teammates for the preseason tour. However, with the matter behind them, Spartak can continue their preparations for the 2022/2023 season in Russia’s top flight.
