December 04, (THEWILL) – The senator representing Benue South senatorial district at the national assembly, Comrade Abba Moro, has observed that the call for the removal of the head of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr Iyorchia Ayu, is absurd because when the head of the body is cut off, the other parts of the body become useless.
Senator Moro, who made the observation while inaugurating his senatorial campaign council in Otukpo, said since he joined the PDP in 1998, Benue South Senatorial District has been in the PDP.
According to him, the seeming problem of the PDP would be resolved before elections next year; saying some persons said they are ‘obidient’, whereas their principal was not obedient when he was in the PDP.
The former Minister of Interior observed with disgust, how a Reverend Father would abandon his calling to venture into an area that is completely different from his spiritual calling.
“The problem of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue south, is how to manage the overwhelming support of the electorate in the zone. Since I joined the PDP in 1998, Benue South Senatorial District has been in the PDP.”
He said the committee that has Dr Adakole Friday Elijah, as Director General, would be continuously enlarged in view of the increasing support of the people.
According to senator Moro, his campaign proper would be launched in Oju local government area on Monday and expressed regret over the inability of the campaign council in extending an invitation to Sir John Ngbede, the PDP deputy governorship candidate and other very important personalities for the inauguration that was held in Otukpo.
He, therefore, summoned the relevant groups for discussion on the modalities that would make the launching of the campaign in Oju a huge success.
It will be recalled that Senator Gabriel Suswam launched his campaign council in Adikpo, in Kwande local government area, a couple of weeks ago, while Governor Samuel Ortom took his turn in Gboko local government area Friday.
Moro, who succeeded Senator David Mark, who spent sixteen years in the Senate, has been challenged by APC and other political parties.
