May 25, (THEWILL) – Russia has has permanently barred 963 Americans including politicians, celebrities, and tech executives from entering the country.
The ban, which follows the US sanctions imposed on the country over its invasion of Ukraine in February, was announced on the website of the Russian foreign ministry.
Among the names on the updated list of Americans who are no longer permitted into Russia are President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and former secretary of state Hillary Clinton.
The list also includes Meta CEO, Mark Zuckerberg and Morgan Freeman, the Academy award-winning actor, 84.
Russia’s raid on Ukraine continues after its forces launched a large-scale invasion on February 24, in an attack widely considered to be the first major land conflict in Europe in decades.
The invasion, ordered by Russian President, Vladimir Putin, has drawn condemnation around the world and increasingly severe economic sanctions against Russia.
