BEVERLY HILLS, June 12, (THEWILL) – The military and members of the vigilante group in Adamawa have repelled an attempted attack by Boko Haram on Kaya village in Madagali Local Government Area of the state.
Boko Haram terrorists attacked the community at about 9:00 pm on Monday night and burnt down 13 houses before the military and vigilantes repelled them.
This was revealed by the Adamawa State Commissioner of Information Ahmad Sajoh who said one Boko Haram member was killed and a vigilante member wounded.
Although the military has curtailed the activities of the insurgents in Adamawa, Madagali has continued to witness attacks.
These attacks have led to the loss of lives and destruction of properties with the terrorists believed to be looking for food items.
The Chairman of Madagali LGA, Mohammed Yusuf, also confirmed the attack and called for the deployment of more security personnel, especially now that farming activities are picking up.
He expressed fear that further attacks may expose the communities to famine.
