Military Plane Crash In Abuja Claims 6

BEVERLY HILLS, February 21, (THEWILL) – All six persons on board a military aircraft King Air 350 may have perished after it crashlanded a few hours ago in Abuja.

It crashed short of the runway at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport, Abuja, not long after reporting an engine failure enroute Minna.

Aviation Minister, Hadi Sirika, has asked for patience while investigations are carried out.

Sirika said in a message a few moments ago: “A military aircraft King Air 350 has just crashed short of our Abuja runway after reporting engine failure enroute Minna. It appears to be fatal. We should remain calm & wait for the outcome of investigation by the military, while we pray for the departed soul/souls if any.”

The Nigerian Air Force NAF201 jet, a B350 aircraft, reportedly departed Abuja at 10.33am with six persons on board, including two crew.

The aircraft sent out a MAY DAY emergency message six minutes after take off with the pilot reporting an engine failure at 10.39am.

It crashedlanded on the final approach path of Abuja Runway 22 at 10:48am.

Fire services quickly raced to the scene of the accident.
