Milan Keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma Makes Serie A Debut At 16

Gianluigi Donnarumma made history on Sunday by becoming the youngest goalkeeper ever to start a match in Serie A.

At 16, Donnarumma helped AC Milan post a 2-1 victory over Sassuolo who ended the game with just 10 men.

Luiz Adriano’s late winner at the San Siro ended a three-game barren run for the hosts and eased the pressure on coach Sinisa Mihajlovic.

Carlos Bacca opened the scoring on 31 from the spot, following a foul by visiting keeper Andrea Consigli who was dismissed for his rash challenge.

Domenico Berardi equalised from a free-kick on 53 before Adriano’s powerful header sealed three points four minutes from time.

Meanwhile, Roma beat Fiorentina 2-1 to move two points clear at the top of the Serie A table.

Mohamed Salah and Gervinho were on target for the visitors before the break with Khouma Babacar grabbing a 94th minute consolation for Fiorentina.

However, Roma were reduced to 10-men when Salah saw red in the 87th minute – when he was shown a second yellow card for protesting his first booking.

Defending champions Juventus registered only their third league victory of the season, thanks to goals from Paulo Dybala and Mario Mandzukic in a 2-0 triumph over Atalanta.

Dybala netted the first on 28 before providing the assist for the second early in the second half.

Atalanta, who failed to test Gianluigi Buffon throughout the game, had defender Rafael Toloi sent off for collecting a second yellow card 16 minutes from time.

And four minutes later Paul Pogba had a penalty kick saved by Atalanta goalkeeper Marco Sportiello.

Sampdoria returned to winning ways with a 4-1 triumph over Verona.

The hosts were three goals up by the break, and were four ahead by the time Artur Ionita netted a 75th minute consolation.

Luis Muriel opened the scoring on 11, before Ervin Zukanovic added a second with a powerful header from Roberto Soriano’s corner.

Soriano then made it 3-0 on the stroke of half-time, with Eder’s header arriving nine minutes after the break.

Francesco Lodi’s 20th free-kick was enough for Udinese to see off Frosinone 1-0.

The decisive moment required a deflection off a defender to beat visiting goalkeeper Nicola Leali.

And in the day’s other match, Felipe Anderson scored a second half brace during Lazio’s 3-0 triumph over Torino.

Senad Lulic opened the scoring just before half-time with Anderson adding others on 70 and 90.
