September 27, (THEWILL) – The Middle-Belt Ethnic Youth Leaders Assembly (MBEYLA) has accused the Federal Government of sponsoring attacks on communities in Benue and Plateau States.

The President-general of the group, Comrade Timothy Hembaur, disclosed this during a world press conference. He said the coordinated nature of the attacks show that the government is complicit.

Hembaur pointed out that before he was elected president, Boko Haram had chosen President Muhammadu Buhari as their representative during talks with former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Quoting other newspaper reports which alleged that Buhari frustrated efforts by the Goodluck administration to neutralise the terrorist organisation.

“This array of forensic evidence shows clearly that Buhari wore the toga of the leader of Boko Haram before his presidency. And, thereafter, it has been smooth sailing since then. The gullibility of the Nigerian public is so appalling and disgusting.

“As a soldier, he needed the collaboration of his service chiefs who stayed beyond their statutory service years and even negotiated their post-service soft landing.

“This is from a man who does not extend favours easily. How can it be rationalised how Fulani militia carry sophisticated military-grade guns publicly and no security outfit makes them accountable?” he said.

He argued that Nigeria is too important and strategic a nation to be allowed to crumble under the Fulani hegemony, adding that it is reprehensible that the Nigerian president is concerned about grazing routes in this age of cutting-edge technology.

The EMBYLA leader also accused Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong of aiding herder’s attacks in the region.

Hembaor said, “I come from Benue State where 73 people were killed in one fell swoop by the Fulani killer group. When Governor Samuel Ortom sought for a solution by signing the Anti-open Grazing and Ranches Establishment Law, Governor Simon Lalong called him names, saying he had warned him about the law.
