May 28, (THEWILL) – On Saturday, Daniil Medvedev demonstrated a champion’s nerves as he advanced unfazed to the fourth round of the French Open 2022.

The second seed cruised over Miomir Kecmanovic 6-2 6-4 6-2 in one hour and 48 minutes, grateful to be on the opposite side of the draw from arch-rival and world number one Novak Djokovic, 13-time winner Rafael Nadal, and Carlos Alcaraz.

Medvedev did not have to be at his best to assure his advancement, but he did just enough to get past the red clay in Paris with no fuss.

Medvedev set the challenge of his Serbian opponent aside quickly as he continues his charge towards a possible second Grand Slam title. On Monday, he will face either Marin Cilic or Gilles Simon for a spot in the quarterfinals.
