Mbappe’s Double Against Nantes Takes PSG Back To Ligue 1 Summit

September 04, (THEWILL) – With a 3-0 victory over Nantes on Saturday, Paris Saint-Germain improved to five wins from six Ligue 1 games this season, with Kylian Mbappe’s brace.

Before the first half’s midway point, Mbappe was already on the scoresheet as he gave the champions the lead for his sixth league goal of the year, while Nantes winger, Fabio, was sent off for a hard challenge.

Early in the second half, the France international scored again, and then Nuno Mendes added a third as Christophe Galtier’s team easily secured all three points.

With the victory, PSG regained the lead in Ligue 1 after Marseille briefly overtook them earlier in the day. Nantes remain in 10th place.

The UEFA Champions League is the next port of call for PSG and they will play Juventus in their first tie. For Nantes, the next fixture is hosting Olympiacos in the Europa League.
