SAN FRANCISCO, March 13, (THEWILL) – Many primary school pupils were feared dead on Wednesday after a three-storeyed building at Ita Faji, Lagos Island, collapsed around 10am.
The primary school is said to be located on the top floor of the building with pupils feared killed and others trapped.
The structure is reported to be a residential building with several apartments.
Emergency and rescue workers are currently at the scene of the incident.
A resident of the area who spoke to THEWILL said no fewer than 20 pupils had been removed from the rubble so far.
The spokesperson for the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Kehinde Adebayo, confirmed the collapse, adding that emergency officials were already on ground.
