Man Utd Inquire About Possibility Of Bringing In Dest From Barcelona

August 03, (THEWILL) – Manchester United are looking to bolster their right-back position and have reportedly made inquiries about Barcelona defender, Sergino Dest, the American informational.

Since joining Barcelona in 2020, the 21-year-old has had difficulty getting regular playing time at Camp Nou, and his future with the club is still “uncertain.” Chelsea defender, Cesar Azpilicueta, has been linked to the Blaugrana, which would pave the way for a potential departure for Dest from the Catalan side.

The former Ajax right-back is a favourite of United manager, Erik ten Hag, and Barca would be demanding a transfer fee of at least €20 million if another Manchester reunion of former Ajax squad personnel is going to take place.

Lisandro Martinez moved to the red side of Manchester from Ajax this summer and Frenkie de Jong, Brian Brobbey, and Jurrien Timber, all of whom have either previously played for or are currently playing for the Amsterdam club, have all been linked to United.

Knowing a player personally is obviously helpful when identifying transfer targets, but if things do not work out with Ten Hag, United will be in danger. The Manchester club is essentially betting everything on Ten Hag during the summer transfer window.
