September 14, (THEWILL) – The Ogun State Police Command has arrested 33-year-old Imoleayo Adekoya for allegedly assaulting and raping a 27-year-old lady at Ipoji area of Sagamu.
Adekola was arrested on August 27 after the victim reported that the suspect waylaid her and accused her of not greeting him. The lady said she apologized and made it clear to him that she did not know him. However, he pounced on her and started assaulting her. Thereafter, he dragged her to the back of his house, where he forcefully tore her clothes and had sex with her against her will.
During interrogation, Adekola confessed to committing the crime, but blamed his actions on having consumed alcoholic drinks and Indian hemp.
The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Edward Ajogun, ordered that the suspect be transferred to state CIID for further investigation and prosecution.
